A change of name signals a new direction under new leadership for long-established contract publishing business The Hardy Group.

The company has been re-branded Quercus Eight and, under its new, sole managing director David Douglas, Quercus Eight will be building on the increasing level of creative and design-led projects it undertakes for a wide range of clients.

“Our new business model is based on collaboration,” says Jennifer Allen. “Clients are seeking flexibility as well as creative solutions. Through our talent network, built up over many years, Quercus Eight is able to bring together teams with the right skills to match the strategic communications needs of our clients.

“This flexibility is essential in enabling us to anticipate and respond to new marketing opportunities and develop innovative solutions to help our clients’ businesses grow and prosper.”

“Many of our clients have been with us for years,” says David Douglas. “We work in partnership with them to manage their publications, leaving them free to concentrate on their core business. The team at Quercus Eight, including my fellow director Jennifer Allen, has worked hard at building these long-term relationships. We believe strongly in customer service and working in partnership with clients to help them maximise value from their communications.“

As well as a new brand name, Quercus Eight also has new offices, at the London Fruit & Wool Exchange building in E1 in the creative hub of Spitafield market.

Why Quercus Eight? The re-brand needed to engage with the new business direction whilst referencing a heritage of 64yrs. The name, Quercus Eight embodies heritage,Quercus, is Latin for the sessile oak, native to these shores. The number eight relates to the range of brand values and core services we offer and we created the name because it reflects our heritage – solid, reliable, resilient, with many branches of expertise in the field of communications.

The brand collateral references back to the printing excellence, to which the organisation has been built upon, most noticeably a unique angled die-cut, which is on all of our brand collateral.
