RDA

Riding for the Disabled Association

Target Audience

RDA (Riding for the Disabled) is a community of voluntary groups working together to provide opportunities for people of all ages with a disability to enjoy horse riding and other related activities.

There are 500 independent charities that make up membership of RDA and they are all listed in the RDA 2011 Handbook, produced by Quercus Eight.

The Handbook provides a completely new way for the RDA National umbrella organisation to reach this large audience of federated members, volunteers and supporters to ensure they have all the information they need to take advantage of the range of help it has to offer.

Creative Challenge

Working to a tight budget we designed the concept for the directory, which was instrumental in securing valuable sponsorship for the publication from PetPlan.

We were responsible for the creative design, account management, print and distribution of the publication.

The Handbook is designed to be durable and easy to use. It comes in a handy A5 format.

The RDA corporate green is used throughout to highlight strap headings and inset panels listing the key contacts by region throughout the directory.

Customer Engagement

The Handbook goes to all members. It signposts them to the services that can help them in the valuable work they do for people with disabilities. It lists their own organisation, it promotes what they do and ensures they can find at a glance their local RDA representative and other charities in their area doing similar good work.

The guide is included in information packs promoting RDA membership.

Business Result

Sponsorship and advertising revenue funded the publication. This enabled a high editorial to advertising ratio.

Looking at the bigger picture, through the work of the RDA around 28,000 individuals are able to take part in riding, carriage driving and vaulting activities throughout the UK, which this Handbook helps to promote.

Following the success of the 2011 publication, we have been commissioned to produce the RDA 2012 Handbook.

Our new style handbook has proved a big hit with our members. They like the fresh ‘magazine’ format, engaging page layout and ease of reference. It’s a really different look for RDA and it’s great to have an information resource that is so professional and inviting. The team at Quercus Eight were really easy to work with, listening to what we wanted and turning our ideas into a very impressive reality!
