Target Audience

IGEM (Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers) is the chartered professional body representing and serving 5000 members employed in the gas industry.

The organisation promotes the attainment and maintenance of the highest standards of professional competence for those working with gas and provides high quality products, services and personal and professional development opportunities for members.

IGEM’s vision is to be the pre-eminent Institution for gas professionals across the world. Members, from engineering students to Chartered Engineers, enjoy a range of member benefits including Gas International, IGEM’s flagship journal produced by Quercus Eight.

Creative Challenge

Quercus Eight provides complete account management for the publication, from creative design and image sourcing through to printing and distribution to members and other subscribers in the UK and overseas.

In January this year Gas International was re-launched following a complete re-design by Quercus Eight. At the same time we devised the striking new GI logo for IGEM members magazine ‘ Gas International’.

Gas International is published 10 times a year and provides readers with business updates, engineering management articles and interviews, and the latest IGEM research and news.

Customer Engagement

Gas International readers range from the professional who comes to install a new gas boiler in your home to the manager responsible for a gas terminal holding millions of cubic metres of LNG (liquid natural gas).

It’s a diverse and demanding audience with a range of information needs that the journal seeks to satisfy. In a readership survey following the re-launch 94 per cent of respondents found the journal had improved for the better.

Sixty-four per cent said Gas International covered most of the subject matter in the industry.

Business Result

The reader response has been enthusiastic with the following feedback:

“Bright, appealing to the eye and plenty of colour.”

“Overall the journal looks really good and testifies to the creativity and hard work that you and your team have put in.”

“… it is a fantastic makeover. The layout, visuals and the format are all outstanding.”

Following this success in July 2011 we have taken over responsibility for IGEM’s Twitter account.

Just received the Gas International and was so impressed that I thought that I should compliment you and the staff on what, in my opinion, is an excellent result and I’m sure a magazine that members and others will now be encouraged to read and not be frightened to bring out in the public eye. Bright, appealing to the eye and plenty of colour.
